CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.08 g, 12 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a hippocamp with curved wings on the bowl. Rev. [TAPANTINΩN] Herakles standing facing, slightly turned to right, strangling the Nemean lion; between Herakles' legs, Κ; to field to left, club. HN Italy 914. SNG ANS 1368-9. SNG Lockett 291 (this coin). Vlasto 1258-9 (same dies). Nicely toned and of fine style. Slightly rough and with minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
